Clinton Anderson Obituary
ANDERSON Clinton Charles Anderson, age 77 of Randall Drive, North Haven, died Thursday, evening, October 28, 2004, at home with his loving family at his side. He was the devoted husband of 57 years to Mary Elizabeth Reynolds Anderson. Mr. Anderson was born in Fairfield on June 7, 1927, a son of the late Charles O. and Marie "Mae" Schober Anderson. He was a graduate of Roger Ludlow H.S., Fairfield and attended Hartford State Technical Institute and graduated from Bridgeport Engineering Institute. He was employed by the former Bullard Co. as an Erecting Dept. Foreman, at which time he became a mason and was raised by the Bullard Craft Degree Team.When the Bullard Co. was sold, he was hired by Stanley Works in New Britain as Manager of Manufacturing until his retirement. However, Mr. Anderson desired to continue working and was employed by the State of Connecticut, Dept. of Public Safety for ten additional years. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Anderson was a member of Fidelity St. John's Lodge 3, AF&AM, Fairfield and had received his fifty year pin this past June. He was also a member of the Murray Reynolds American Legion Post 76 of North Haven and was active in the Republican Party of North Haven. Mr. Anderson's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Georgia Kelley and Cheryl Doye, RN (Hospice nurse) and all the nurses that cared for and offered him support. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Elaine Marie Potanovich and her husband, Robert M. Potanovich, Sr. of Wallingford, and Cheryl Lea Hotham, a member of Eastern Star and her husband, Samuel Hotham, of Southington; two sisters, Lillian M. Bullard of Fairfield, and Elsie Werner of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Arthur E. Anderson, also a mason of Fairfield; five grandchildren, Robert M. Potanovich, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Maplewood, N.J., Jason M. Potanovich and his wife, Mirela, of New York City, LeaAnn Mochel and Gabriel Zamorano Sr. of Meriden, Amy L. Mochel of Cranston, R.I., and Adam M. Hotham, a member of the Demolay of Southington; and a great-grandson, Gabriel Zamorano Jr. of Meriden. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Beverly Judd and her husband, Ernest; and a brother-in-law, Richard Reynolds and his wife, Eleanor; and several loving neices and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred O. Anderson. Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Avenue, North Haven, the Pastor Florence Eddins officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the New Center Cemetery, North Haven.
