Daniel Dicks Obituary
Daniel (Danny Boy) Dicks Jr. was born on May 17, 1946, to Daniel Dicks Sr. and the late Firdmae Martin Dicks, in Bridgeport, Ct. He was a True Soldier drafted into God's Army to take his rest on the early morning of Sunday, January 18, 2015 in the comfort of his home. Danny Boy as he was affectionately known to all was educated in the Bridgeport Public School System and was the proud owner of Danny and Sons Construction. Danny met and married his longtime sweetheart and friend Delores Clark Dicks and they are the parents of five daughters, and three sons. He loved his wife and children and had a caring heart for everyone. He was well known for his gifts of help, being a loving person, and always lending his services and showing his tender heart. He left memories of a legacy that can never be rewritten or lived by another to his wife, father, children, siblings, grandchildren, a great grandchild and a host of other relatives and many friends He is predeceased by his mother, two brothers and a granddaughter . Friends may greet the family at 10:00a.m. Service at 12:00pm in Messiah Baptist Church 210 Congress Street, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery 885 Boston Avenue Bridgeport, CT. 06606. Six years already has passed and a man I only met once, I'll forever remember Danny for his hard work & generosity going back to the early 90s! Thank you to the one that shared the nice picture of Danny here in this feed, as it was so long ago I saw him last, it brings me a smile in remembrance. From all I've read here, you left behind many many loved ones who were most fortunate to know you as a father, husband, family member & friend. RIP in heaven & once again, thank you Danny!

Missing you so much. I still need you. The talks we had. The laughs we shared. I remember them all. The trips to Disney to the trips to Playland,I remember them all. The lessons I learned to the punishments I endured. I remember them all. The rides on your motorcycles to the races in your Chevelle. I remember them all. The days you sat at my side when I was in the hospital,to the days I walked out and you took me to eat anywhere I wanted to go. I remember those times. To our last conversation how we laughed like crazy about old times,your laugh it's what I remember the most. My connection to you is so amazing and strong. I miss you dad. I love you so much. With much sorrow I talk about the true spirit of friendship I found in Danny Boy. When I met Danny Boy we were instant friends. I thought I was special to meet such a nice man and hit it off right away. As our friendship grew I learned I was not so special. In fact, that Danny Boy treated everybody he liked that way. Certainly he was still a blessing to me. In my dealings with the family he was always the same, never waiving in his friendship. I remember his helping spirit. I remember his smile. I remember his willingness to say what you needed to help you through. I remember his commitment to family. He is certainly gone too soon as he had committed to a visit with me this summer. So to all who will miss him I will too. Delores and all them special baby Dicks, I love you and will be praying for you all during this difficult time. Danny Boy was a hero to many, near and far. He, his brothers and mother are together again. Oh what a reunion! With that being said I encourage you to seek God, He is the Supreme Comforter and He will make this better. It will never be the same but God and only God can help you heal. Ask Him and watch Him work. Look to the hills...

Condolences to the Dicks Family, Danny was a friend of my dads, Jimmy the welder. Back in the 90's, Danny came by to my house in north Stratford after work with his tractor & helped with the landscaping a few nights in a row. A lot of work. He refused to be paid. He was most generous with his time spent. Thanks again Danny for your help. It meant a lot to me. Prayers for you in heaven now. God Bless.
