David Charles Wiggin III
David Charles Wiggin III, age 82, of Shelton, died peacefully at home, in the loving presence of his family. He was the husband of Barbara (Janulis) Wiggin.
Born in Hartford, he lived in East Hartford, prior to moving to Stratford. David graduated from Stratford High School and then attended trade school. He enlisted in the Air Force, where he proudly served for four years.
He enjoyed a career as a machine welder for many years starting out at Raymark Industries and retiring from Ashcroft Industries. He was a "Mr. Fix It" and genuinely enjoyed working and doing repairs. David was an avid reader and had a keen interest in geography and history. He watched a lot of television and had a great love for old classic movies. David enjoyed a delicious meal, especially tasty sweets and desserts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two loving children, Matthew Wiggin and Marcie Wiggin; one sister, Linda White; niece, Lisa Gloates and her husband, Ira and their son, Daniel; cousins, Roy and Harvey Wiggin; and former daughter-in-law, Maria Lurdes Pedro, and the Pedro family. He was predeceased by his parents, David Charles Wiggin II and Mildred Pyne Wiggin; brothers, Edward Wiggin and Jack and Jim Cummings; nephew, Joseph Ianone; brother-in-law, Clark White; and grand-dog, CC.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 10:15 AM at Pistey Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford, and at 11:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 Main Street, Stratford. Interment with military honors on Friday at 11:00 AM at Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery, Harvester Road, Easton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
