Raccuia, Jr., and mother to Nancy Moule of Hamden, John (Mary) Raccuia of Woodbridge, Stephen (Elizabeth) Raccuia of Trumbull, Sally Gibbard (Doug) of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Lisa Hansen (Doug Heenan) of West Haven and Mark (Kirsten) Raccuia of Chicago. She was predeceased by her son, Edward Raccuia, and nephew, Kenneth Block, Jr. Loving Grandmother to Kelly and Mary Moule; Daniel, Thomas, and Caroline Raccuia; Christopher and Clare Raccuia; Michael and Marissa Gibbard; and Kristen, Ryan, and Austin Hansen. Dolores also leaves behind her brother, Kenneth Block, and sister-in-law Gloria; as well as in laws Dorothy and Rocco Mondo; Valerie and Charles Pelizza; and five nieces and nephews. Dolores was born in Englewood, New Jersey in 1930 to Mae (LeConte) and Francis Block. She was a Infant Church where she was involved in the Ladies' Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at Milford Hospital, the Orange Convalescent Home, and the Afghan Group at the Senior Center in Orange. In addition, she enjoyed traveling to Europe and throughout the United States, including the many winters she spent on Jupiter Island, Florida. She graduated from West Haven High School in 1947 and worked in the insurance industry before becoming a full-time homemaker to her adoring husband of 59 years and her seven children. Her greatest joy was spending time with them and hosting family get-togethers. Her faith, amazing strength, and ability to see the good in everyone are attributes for which she will always be remembered. Dolores will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 13th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad Street, Milford. A mass to celebrate her life will be held at Holy Infant Church in Orange on Thursday, June 14th at 10:30 a.m. Donations may be made to the American Breast Cancer Society and the Connecticut Hospice of Branford.

To the entire Raccuia family - From the entire O'Neil family - We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers go out to each and every one of you. The first love I believe in is a mother's love for her children. I loved your mom as if she was my own....it takes great courage to raise children....your mom was exceptional at it....By day the darkness circles the earth like a grieving mother with a lamp. Peace be with you all - JPO
