Donald Cogswell Obituary

COGSWELL Mr. Donald Edward Cogswell, age 84, of Milford, beloved husband of 61 years to Patricia Cogswell, died suddenly on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at his home. Born on April 11, 1922 in Bridgeport, Donald served in North Africa with the U.S. Army during World War II. While stationed in England, he met and married Patricia and brought her home with him to raise their family in Milford, where he was active in St. PeterPs Episcopal Church. Donald retired from the Bridgeport Brass Company in 1979 and enjoyed life and retirement with Patricia, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind three children, Vicki Sastre and her husband, Joe, of Norwich, Dr. Marilyn Waldo and her husband, Dr. Ives Waldo, of Denver, Colo. and Edward Cogswell and his wife, Karin, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Cogswell; and a grandson. Services and committal will be private. Arrangements in care of the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Milford Pound Pooches, c/o Milford Animal Shelter, 664 East Broadway, Milford, CT 06460. www.codywhitefuneralservice.com.
