Donald Wilson Obituary
Donald F. Wilson, age 86, of Shelton, entered into rest on Monday, January 13, 2025, in his home. He is the beloved husband of 29 years to Margaret (Belinski) Wilson. Donald was born in Bridgeport on October 20, 1938, son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Edgeworth) Wilson.
Don grew up in Stratford on Barnum Avenue and then lived in Shelton for over 60 years. He graduated from Stratford High School, Class of 1956, and the University of Connecticut, Class of 1960. He was a Mechanical and Airworthiness Engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford for 36 years. Don and Margaret (Peggy) enjoyed traveling, spending their summers in New Hampshire and winters in Florida. He enjoyed his casino trips, woodworking, and puttering around his home. He was a longtime and passionate supporter of the UConn Men's and Women's Basketball teams.
Don is the beloved father of Betsy Nemeth and husband George, Don Wilson Jr and wife Karen, Susan Clapp and husband Allan, and David Wilson and wife Margret, and stepfather of Matthew Urbanovsky and wife Karen and Russell Urbanovsky and partner Marleen. Don was proud of his eight grandchildren who brought him so much joy: Andrew, Grace, Alex, Jimmy, Matthew, Josh, Brady, and Hope.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home (390 River Road, Shelton) on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 4 to 6 PM. On Thursday, January 23, his funeral service will begin at the same location at 10 AM, with burial immediately following at Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport.

One of the sometimes under appreciated virtues in life is the importance of mentoring. Don was my first boss at Sikorsky and I still remember his wise and sensitive guidance on matters both personal and professional. And those things have stayed with me over these many years. Thank you Don.
