Doris Reardon Obituary

REARDON Doris B. Reardon, age 92, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Griffin Hospital, Derby. She is the widow of the late Police Chief Joseph J. Reardon Sr. of Ansonia. Mrs. Reardon was born in Queensbury, England on March 6, 1911, daughter of the late George and Alice Cole Biggins. She came to this country in 1912 and settled in the east end of Waterbury. Mrs. Reardon was an employee of the SNET Co as a telephone operator working in the Waterbury, Derby and other offices in the state. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a communicant of the Church of the Assumption. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Wojczak of West Haven; a son, Marlborough CT. Superintendent of Schools, Joseph J. Reardon Jr. of Hebron, Conn.; one grandson and one great grandson. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Pietryka, Sydney Clock and one brother, John Biggins. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff St. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption. Burial will be in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday, June 18, 2003, from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Assumption School in care of the funeral home.
