Edith Merkle Obituary

MERKLE Edith R. Merkle, age 64, of Ansonia, beloved companion of Eugeniusz Broniatowski, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005. Mrs. Merkle was born in Bridgeport, on August 17, 1940, to the late Herbert Ralph and Elsie Bodine Finch and was a Milford resident for many years prior to moving to West Haven for 12 years and most recently to Ansonia. She was retired from the Orange Health Care Center, where she was employed for 13 years. Survivors include three sons, Kevin Merkle and Kenneth Merkle, both of Milford and Michael McGeehan of Shelton; a daughter, Michelle Ferency of West Haven; three brothers, James Finch, Garry Finch and Robert Finch all of Milford; a sister, Joyce Neumon of Milford; two grandsons, Christopher Merkle and Christopher Ferency; the father of Michael and Michelle, Richard McGeehan of East Haven; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Merkle was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Nettle. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, at 6 p.m. in the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
