Edward Koniak Obituary
Edward E. Koniak, Jr., age 67, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 46 years to Orlene (Holub) Koniak. Edward was born in Derby on August 28, 1954, son of the late Edward E. and Viola (Tonucci) Koniak and was a lifelong Shelton resident. He worked as a Millwright Rigger for W.B. Myers, Inc. for many years until his retirement. Edward enjoyed cars and loved animals. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family and friends. He was the beloved father of Ryan Koniak and his wife Nicole, brother of Linda VanAlstyne, loving uncle of Larry VanAlstyne, Steven VanAlstyne and Billy Hanley and brother-in-law of Linda Hanley. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Family and friends are required to wear masks. On Monday, friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton. His burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. To Orlene, Ryan & Family. Orlene I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We haven't spoken since our days at HealthNet, but I clearly remember the love between you & Ed & the devotion you both had to Ryan. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Hold on to great memories through this grieving process.
