Eileen Weber Obituary

Eileen Weber
May 8, 1926 - Apr. 27, 2018
Eileen (Hennessy) Weber, age 91, of Monroe, CT and previously of Winsted, CT and Queens Village, NY, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Eileen was born May 8, 1926 in Jamaica, Queens, NY, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Regan) Hennessy. Eileen was a retired teacher in the New York City school system. She was a devout Catholic, reveled in her Irish heritage and had a great sense of humor. Faith and family were everything to her. Eileen was a trailblazer for women's education, achieving a Master's Degree in Education from Fordham University in 1979. Despite her long illness, Eileen never lost her innate sweetness, her excitement when visitors came to see her, and her sense of wonder at God's creations in nature. Even when she could no longer recall the names of those around her, she remembered and said her prayers nightly. Survivors include her eight devoted children: Marianne Weber of California, Christine Rodgers and her husband John of Winsted, CT, Eileen Derasmo and her husband Dominic of Waterbury, CT, Margaret Obst and her husband Kenneth of Winsted, CT, Joan Anderson and her husband John of Norfolk, CT, Veronica Larsson and her husband Eric of Trumbull, CT, Bernadette Oed of Monroe, CT, and Charles Weber of Floral Park, NY; 27 grandchildren; 35 great -grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, one sister, and her husband Charles. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly in Saint James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford, CT. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Winsted, CT. Friends may visit with her family Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Chicago Jesuit Academy, 5058 West Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60644 and Vitas Healthcare, 199 Park Rd., Extension, Suite 102, Middlebury, CT 06762.
