Emil J. Grega

GREGA Emil J. Grega, age 91, of Fairfield, the loving widower of Emma Grega, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2005. Born in Bridgeport, to the late Andrew and Margaret Grega, Emil was a lifelong Fairfield resident. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of Emil & Tom Grega Painting and Decorating which he founded in 1942. He was a member of the Grassy Hill Country Club, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Thomas Aquinas Men's League & Bowling Team. Emil was an avid golfer, enjoyed dancing and just loved life and people. Emil is survived by his loving family: one son, Tom Grega and his wife, Melinda; his three daughters, Barbara Carroll and her husband, George, Kathy Fish, Beth Lambert and her husband, Geoff, all of Fairfield; 15 grandchildren, Susan Pinzon, Michael & Christopher Carroll, Jennifer Marsocci, Dana Openshaw, Kate Vogel, David & Amy Fish, Timothy, Shawn, Krista & Thomas Grega, Brian, Kevin & Colleen Lambert.; six great grandchildren and a sister, Elsie Studley of Pittstown, NJ. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Lyons; his son-in-law, David Fish; his great grandson, Harrison; five brothers, John, Andrew, Joseph, Stephen & Frank Grega and one sister, Irene Hine. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given to their father by Lisa and Georgina. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial directly at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Thomas Cemetery.
