Florence Wehger Obituary

WEHGER Florence B. Wehger, age 98, of Southbury, formerly of Trumbull for over 60 years, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 at her home. She was the widow of Dr. Roland T. Wehger. Mrs. Wehger was born February 21, 1907 in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of the late Emil and Julia (Decorte) Berger. A registered nurse, Mrs. Wehger graduated from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Bridgeport Hospital and was the office nurse for her husband's practice. She was a former member of the Brooklawn Country Club of Fairfield, a member of the Monroe Garden Club, a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a forty year member of the Golden Hill United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. She enjoyed playing bridge. She is survived by a son, Roland F. Wehger of Shelton; two daughters, Judith Henderson of Woodbury and Susan Jefferys of Austin, TX; a sister, Lillie Zissell of Peabody, Mass.; and five grandchildren. At her request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405. The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North is in charge of arrangements.

jeff,mrs and mr henderson, and to the rest of the family: my colendences to you on the loss of you beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. she sounds like she was an amazing woman from the stories that i have heard about her. i feel honored that i was able to meet her last may. you are all in my thoughts and prayers. sending lots of love and hugs from michigan. ( i wish i could be there in person to give out the hugs for real.)all my love,
