Frederick Castaldo Obituary

Castaldo Sr., Frederick M.
Frederick Michael Castaldo Sr., age 69 of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of Irene (Jarzynski) Castaldo, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 14, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on January 30, 1947, he was the son of the late Guido and Rose (Bellavita) Castaldo, and was raised and employed in the City of Bridgeport. Fred enjoyed family gatherings, good food, sitting on the beach and going on vacation. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge #36 and you could find him there enjoying the fellowship of his brother Elks. He was a past president of the Lake Forest Association and a member for 40 years. "Fred's Pasta Night" was a well-attended social for both Elks and Lake Forest. He loved his parish family at St. Andrew's Church, and worked on the family picnics as well. He would strike up a conversation and then a friendship anywhere he went. His shoe collection was amazing. In addition to his wife, cherishing his memory is his son, Frederick Castaldo Jr., his brother, Thomas Castaldo and wife Elaine, his brothers and sisters-in-law; Peter and Teresa Jarzynski, Michael and Marianne Jarzynski, and his nieces and nephews who enjoyed his stories and jokes. Fred's family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and physicians and clergy of 9 South in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. He was released by loving and caring hands into the hands of his Almighty Father. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Mrs. Castaldo & Fred Jr. My heart is so sad to hear ofMr. Castaldo passing. I have so many wonderful memories of you both. When I was a little girl we spent so much time on the lake with the Castaldo family. I have one very special memory it was my birthday and Mr. asked me what I want him to get me for my birthday. I said a big lobster just for me. Well is was time to go home and has always you and Mrs. C gave me a big hug and kiss goodbye. A little why while later our doorbell rang and to me surprise there was a huge lobster with a bow on it. The note said Happy Birthday Nikki love Mr. Castaldo. I ate the whole thing myself. And I don't want to forget a story about Mrs. Castaldo when I was little and I got of the lake freezing cold and wet. Mrs. C always had a towel ready for me even though I was wet and cold. She would hug me tight and I would cuddle up in your lap and go to sleep. I love you both and I am very grateful to have you in my life. R.I.P. Mr. C.

Fred was a great man and important part of my life since before I could remember. A very caring man who always kept a watchful eye over my sister, myself and then my own daughter. I dont have a memory that doesnt include him. My family was very close to the Castaldo's we had family dinners, picnics and of course all day beach days, he was a good sport by putting up with my sister and me when we wanted him to swim with us. He was the only person to talk me into trying liver/onion sandwichs on field day..he made me a special one. Even when we were annoying he would smile at us and put up with us. Fred and Cookie were always fun to be around, And the way he looked at her like he was falling inlove with her all over again would give you hope that good loving men were out there. He was amazing with my daughter who just like i did loved " Mr. Fred and Ms. Cookie." I will miss him and I thank him for so many great memories, and for always watching over me, when I think of Lake Forrest I will always think of him.
