Frieda Terek Obituary
Frieda Terek, age 97, of Stratford, loving wife of 54 years to the late George Terek, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Deeb Gramesty. Frieda worked in accounting for Sikorsky Aircraft for more than 40 years. Frieda loved her job at Sikorsky and reminisced about it for many years after retirement. Before Alzheimer's she loved her trips to the casino with her sister, Adele. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Bridgeport.
Frieda leaves behind her loving daughter Gail Terek of La Mesa, CA, her sister Adele Raiano of Fairfield, and many loving nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband George Terek, daughter Linda Terek, brothers Louis Gramesty, George Gramesty, sisters Katherine Gramesty, Nassa Macol, Helen Williamson.
Friends are invited to attend the Rite of Burial on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Ave., Bridgeport with Archpriest Father Romanos Malouf and Arch Deacon Sami Bal officiating followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Calling hours will take place on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service in the church. The Commerce Hill Dougiello Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport has been entrusted with the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Nicholas Church in memory of Frieda. To the Terek family snd friends.
I knew both George and Freida through my home health care work. Watched Freida make cheese and she taught me how to make the best chicken wings ever! Still saving wing tips for broth. Also brought them grape leaves from another clients yard. Great times , great memories. Both George and Freida were an all around happy and most friendly couple. It was a pleasure helping them and spending time in their home.
