George Ryan Obituary
George J. Ryan of Venice, Florida, formerly of Shelton, passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on October 2, 2022. Devoted husband to Beatrice H. Ryan; beloved father of Pamela O'Brien and Kimberly Caro. Friends may greet the family from 4:00PM-6:00PM on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 10 am in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Valley Community Foundation in memory of the George & Beatrice Scholarship Fund, 253-A Elizabeth Street, Derby, CT 06418. George was a brilliant businessman. Generous with his time and presence in our community, his contributions were lasting. On one occasion, 40 years ago, George sponsored a visit to Edison, N.J., to view a Ford Manufacturing plant, building Ford Escorts. Ford's slogan at the time: "Quality is Job One."
In retrospect, quality was a rich part of George's fabric. We were fortunate to witness his transformative and generous presence in the Naugatuck Valley. and in our lives. To his family, thank you for sharing him.
