Georgia Chirigos Obituary

Georgia Chirigos
Georgia Avramopoulou Chirigos age 85 of Bridgeport, loving wife to the late George Chirigos passed away peacefully on Friday August 4, 2017. Born in Thiva, Greece on September 22, 1931 to the late Leonidas and Marena Avramopoulou.
Survivors include her son Kostantinos Chirigos and his wife Linda, grandchildren: Panayiota and George Giotsas, Georgia and Spiro Papakosmas, Stella and Johnny Yiovanakos, George Kourpouanidis, Steve Kourpouanidis and wife Melissa, Marina Cruz (Yiayia's favorite), Alessandra Donnarumma, Jimmy and Nick Chirigos,sixteen great-grandchildren, her sister Eleni Paraskevopoulou of Athens, Greece, several nieces and nephews both in Greece and in the US. Georgia was predeceased by her son Dimitrios Chirigos, her daughter Eleftheria (Alicia) Chirigos and her grandson Gus Kourpouanidis,
Calling hours will take place on Monday August 7, 2017 from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport with Trisagion Services at 6p.m. in the funeral home. The Rite of Burial will take place on Tuesday at 10a.m. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Bridgeport followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Georgia.
