Grace Kathleen Raveis Dickman

DICKMAN Grace Kathleen Raveis Dickman, age 75 of Fairfield, beloved wife of Carl Dickman, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 16, 2010. Born and raised in Bridgeport, Grace was a Fairfield Town resident for most of her life. She had worked for Safeco Insurance for more than 25 years until her retirement and also helped her husband Carl with his political career. Grace loved her church, she had been the president of the St. Emery's PTA, she belonged to the St. Emery's Ladies Guild, St. Emery's seniors and was a willing volunteer for any church function. She was also a member of the St. Ann's and Black Rock Senior groups. "Gertie "enjoyed baking, caring for her home, the occasional trip to the casino and especially liked the times that she could spend playing BINGO. A loving wife, mother, devoted daughter and friend, Grace will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In addition to Carl, her beloved husband of more than 50 years, she is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Dickman of Stony Brook, N.Y. and Maureen Dickman of Fairfield; her very special niece, Jamie Caplinger, whom Grace loved like a third daughter; her mother, Grace Raveis of Fairfield; a sister, Jeannette Raveis of Milford; as well as several nieces, nephews, a great-niece and great-nephews. Gertie also leaves behind her little friends, Otto, Trixie and Norman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Emery's Church, 838 Kings Hwy, Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center.
