Harry Green Obituary

Harry LeRoy Green
Harry LeRoy Green, age 80, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025. Harry was born on July 19th, 1944, to the late Franklyn and Rozena Farrar Green.
After graduating from Trumbull High School, Harry earned his undergraduate degree in Management/Finance and then went on to earn his MBA in finance at Sacred Heart University.
While Harry pursued a career in the corporate world of banking, the aircraft industry, and telecommunications, his true passion was art; a passion he shared with his mother since the age of five. After losing his mother in 1996, Harry decided to focus his energy on bringing his creativity to life. For the last 27 years, Harry's creative art generated countless paintings that have been displayed at various art exhibits in the Bridgeport, Stratford, and Easton Libraries, Churches and Civic Organizations to name a few. Harry once said, "Art is a relationship. It, and your understanding of it, grows and changes throughout the journey of life. My vision is to spread that relationship."
He leaves to cherish his memories, two brothers, William and Jehu; five sisters, Arlene, Lanette, Gloria, Peninnah, and Mary; nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of beloved sorrowing friends, whom he held closely to his heart as family. In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his grandparents, his brother; Franklyn, and three sisters, Marcella, Rosemary and Crystal.
Harry will always be remembered by his laughter, as a straight shooter, enthusiastic traveler, a caring individual and a confidante/friend to many.
A private memorial will be held in his honor on March 7, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Harry's name to the Bridgeport Public Library.

Harry & Jack arrived @ Husson the same snowy day in 1964. Harry immediately called his mother telling her to "get me out of here!" She hung up! Many years, fraternity brothers, dear friends and happy occasions later, we are all deeply saddened to lose "our Harry".

My sincere condolences to the Green family.
I worked with Harry at SNET as his clerk. It was a life changing experience for me. He was not just my supervisor, but my mentor and friend always having my best interest at heart.
When my mom became sick, his friendship and concern were invaluable. I remember fondly our talks about our mother's and how they were the backbone of our families.
Harry taught me a lot about life and I still quote his wisdom to today. More than anything else he will be remembered for his outstanding work ethic, his genuine concern for his family especially his mom, his friends, incredible talent whether it is a beautiful piece of art, his outlook on health and wellness, but more than anything else his eloquent letter writing. My dear friend I will miss you.
Rest in peace.
