Helen Patricia Szaszak Kadar age 96, passed away peacefully in Harrisburg Pennsylvania at the home of her daughter Kimberlee.
She was the beloved wife of the late Zoltan (Zoly) Kadar. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she lived the majority of her life in Fairfield, CT.
She leaves three children, Nancy (Alan) Dempsey, Zoly (Kathy) Kadar and Kimberlee (Michael) Kadar-Kallen, twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by several stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Grammie and maintained close relationships with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents Rose and Stephen Szaszak and sisters Mary Vasale, Margaret Kazzi and Irene Olah. Helen took great pride in her Hungarian heritage and shared her ethnic recipes with her children to be enjoyed for generations. She was known for her love of family gatherings, travel and polka dancing.
Helen practiced her faith at St. Emery's Church in Fairfield for many years and had a special devotion to St. Jude.
Funeral services are under the direction of the Larson Funeral Home in Fairfield and will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 8:30-9:30 am. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Emery's Church at 10:00 AM followed by interment at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
