Helga Kassery Obituary
Helga Kassery, age 89 of Southbury, died peacefully on Tuesday March 24, 2015. She was born in Berlin, Germany, daughter of the late Freida and Florus Kolbe. Helga and her husband, Albert Kassery started their family and raised their children in Bridgeport, and after that were residents of Southbury for 33 years. Before retirement, Helga was a devoted partner in her husband's metal polishing and plating business. Her passion and knowledge of antique silver, copper and brass greatly complimented her husband's skills as a metal smith. Together, they had the great fortune of loving their life's work. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Albert Kassery and sister Margot Kolbe. She is survived by her children Thomas Kassery of Southbury, CT, Jeannette (Kassery) Zolan of Bridgeport, CT, Edward Kassery and wife Elizabeth of Huntington, CT, Robert Kassery and wife Heidie of Oxford, CT, Joyce Kassery of Tucson, AZ, and Victor Kassery of New York, NY. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren including, Gabriel Kassery, Jeremy Zolan, Eric Zolan, Jordan Kassery and Tate Kassery. The family invites friends to attend a Memorial Service honoring Helga's life on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00AM at the South Britain Congregational Church, 693 South Britain Road, Southbury, CT.
