Henry Wajdowicz Obituary

WAJDOWICZ Henry W. "Butch" Wajdowicz passed away peacefully Thursday, December 8, 2005, at his Ansonia home with his family by his side. He was born in Derby, on May 13, 1935, son of Stanley and Caroline Bak Wajdowicz. He attended St. Michael4s Catholic School and graduated from Derby High School. Butch was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Farrell Corporation/SHW, Inc., until his retirement in 1989. Surviving him are his devoted and dearly loved wife of 40 years, Joan Marie (Motel); his cherished children, Edward (Cheryl) Wajdowicz of East Haven, Kristen (Keith) Marquis of Orange and Cheryl (Thomas) Kelly of Stamford; five adored grandchildren, Caroline and Michael Wajdowicz, Claire and Kathryn Marquis and Sarah Kelly; his brothers, Eugene Wajdowicz of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Matthew Wajdowicz of Derby; a sister, Salome Ambro of Shelton; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Stanley and Roman Wajdowicz; and sisters, Irene Miclenevich and Celia Hyjek. Henry was a parishioner of St. Michael4s Church, Derby and a member of both the Farrell Old Timers Club and the Catholic War Veterans. He and his wife frequently attended Our Lady of Assumption Church in Woodbridge. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 10 a.m. in St. Michael4s Church in Derby (go directly). Visiting hours will be on Monday, December 12, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hylwa Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Children4s Eye Foundation, P.O. Box 193832, San Francisco, CA 94119.
