James Richard Pierpont, age 90, a lifelong Milford resident passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, August 21, 2016. He was born on January 5, 1926 to the late James and Harriet Smith Pierpont. James proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and was a tool and dye maker for AVCO before retiring. Enjoying the outdoors, he was an avid sailor and a member of the Milford Yacht Club since 1971 and enjoyed playing golf. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his loving wife, of 68 years, Beverly Bray Pierpont, dedicated daughters Michele Lapadula and her husband Dennis and Stacy Meszaros and her husband Robert all of Milford, grandchildren Stephen Meszaros and his wife Emily of Denver, CO, Alicia Meszaros, Catherine Meszaros, Hayley Lapadula, and Ryan Lapadula all of Milford along with many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Memorial Service will be held at Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, 168 Broad St., Milford on Thursday August 25, 2016 at 10am. Interment will be private.
