Janet A. Moran, age 67, of Waterford passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Milford, CT. Jan was born in New London on September 20, 1946, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Maynard Algiero. She moved to Waterford as a pre-teen, graduated from Waterford High School and, later, from the Williams School of Banking. While in the banking industry, Jan was promoted to Sr. Vice President; she then moved into the Casino Industry where she became a Senior Credit Executive. While in banking, she was involved in many community activities. Jan is survived by her loving sister, Barbara Algiero and sister-in-law, Mary Kostyk of Milford and cousin, Peg Dwyer of Clinton. Survivors also include Jan's beloved aunts Chris Carlucci and Rita Algiere of Westerly and Diamon Porlidis of Waterford, dear friends Judi Zielinski of Old Lyme and Helen Cavalieri of Waterford, and many more caring relatives and cherished friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Jill Lacy and her medical team at the Smilow Cancer Center and the wonderful caregivers who tended lovingly to Jan over the last few months. Calling hours will be at the Byles Memorial Home,99 Huntington St. New London on Wednesday from 10 until 11 o'clock followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul in Chains Church, Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, at 11:30.
