Jennie Edwards Obituary

EDWARDS Jennie Edwards, age 94, of Fairfield, wife of the late Robert Edwards, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Rezso and Tess Fazekas and was proud of her Hungarian heritage. She leaves behind her loving family, her sons, Donald Edwards of Fairfield and Rudy Edwards and his wife, Barbara, of Newtown; and a daughter, Terry Archer and her husband, Jim, of Marco Island, Fla.; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also has a remaining sister, Olga Szabo of Florida. Jennie lived a long and energetic life. She endured many hard times and hard work, but also enjoyed many happy times. She loved her garden and flowers and spent many happy hours working around her yard. Jennie delighted in going to parades and long car rides in the country. She enjoyed browsing in the church store. Most of all, she loved and treasured her family and was always thoughtful and giving to them. She was an enduring figure, surprising everyone with her vitality at her age. Jennie drew people to her (even strangers) and captivated everyone with her charm. She was a treasure, " EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE AN AUNT JENNIE ", and a grandma and mom as warm as she. Everyone will miss her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center, with the Rev. Betsy Blomfield officiating. Burial to follow in Lawncroft Burial Grounds, Fairfield. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 2, 2006 from 3 to 7 p.m. To sign an online register, please visit www.leskopolkefuneralhome. com.

Don

I felt a sadness when I received your letter reagarding Jennie But, then I realized that although she was gone from our sight she is still with us and will be always in our hearts and live on within our thoughts of her love, kindness and caring of others.

Dear Rudy & Barb,Don & Terry,

We were so sorry to hear about Aunt Jennie. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. My dad was just asking about her last week. We all loved Aunt Jennie and her "bubbly"personality because she always put a smile on our faces when we saw her! You can't help but smile when you think of her.

Our Love & Prayers,

Dear Terry and Family,

I'm so sorry about your mother's passing. I remember her so well growing up and spending so much time at your house.

She always made sure Terry had her glass of milk every afternoon and I think she even drove herself to the hospital when Donnie was about to be born.

Even though I haven't seen you in many years, I think of you often.

I know you all have many wonderful memories to get you through this difficult time.

Love, Barbara Zumstag

P.S. You probably already know this, but Mrs. Eckstein died last week.
