Joanna M. Cafora
Joanna Maia Cafora, age 62, of Monroe, beloved wife of Thomas P. Cafora III, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 21 2024, at her residence. Born and raised in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of Monica Downs Maia of Bridgeport and the late Leopold J. Maia. Joanna received her Bachelor's Degree from University of Bridgeport Summa Cum Laude and worked as corporate officer with TPC systems. She was very creative and enjoyed singing, drawing and decorating. She was the star singer in her high school play, "Sweet Charity". Joanna cherished time she spent with her grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Christopher J. Maia and her sister, Maribeth F. Maia. Survivors include her husband, Tom, her mother, Monica, her daughter, Calista Reagan of California, her son, Thomas Cafora IV of Brooklyn, three grandchildren, Sophia, Audrina and Theodora Reagan, her sister-in-law, Kimmarie Giannattasio (Mickey), and many honorary nieces and nephews, especially Fred Paoletti III and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanna's name to Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, 1430 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468. To leave an online condolence, visit www.abriola.com .
