John Bradley Obituary

John William Bradley
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished John William Bradley (Jack) on December 9, 2024. Deeply mourned by his parents, Cindy and Bill; his sisters, Krissy and Casey. Jack is the beloved grandson of Carol and Jim Bradley; beloved nephew of Kathy and Todd Gray, Laura and Michael Tyrrell, and Arden and Jim Bradley; preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Shirley and Jack Yates. Jack, who was named after his grandfather, was born on May 11,1994 in Norwalk, CT, spent most of his life in Fairfield, CT and most recently resided in Tierra Verde, Florida.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut and had a passion for helping others. Jack led his life with extraordinary compassion. Everyone that knows Jack will remember him by his loving and giving nature, his thoughtfulness and kindness to others, especially those in need. He will be forever remembered and loved.
There will be a Celebration of Life to honor our beloved Jack on Saturday, January 18th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Road in Fairfield, CT. For those that cannot attend in person, you are welcome to join the service virtually. Please see Greenfield Hill Congregation website for youtube link details. Immediately after the service there will be a reception held at the church. To celebrate Jack's spirit, we ask that guests not wear black and either wear Jack's favorite color (blue, any shade) or any other color. In lieu of flowers and to honor Jack's kindness and passion to help others in need, please consider donating to Bridgeport Rescue Mission ("BRM") where Jack was the Director of Volunteer Services https://secure.qgiv.com/for/brgiv/ .

Dear friends of Jack, as I am,
Jack and I worked together at BRM for several years quite happily and productively. He was one of God´s lights in my life and I have missed him since he moved to Florida. He was a joy to have around always! He could work well with the students, the staff, the volunteers and the clients. And everyone liked him. He was always a joy to have around. He was one of those persons in whom you could see God smiling at you. I know he will be sorely missed for many years but I´m sure he is still doing God´s work and he will be waiting to greet us when we go to join God. My sincere sympathies are with his lovely family and his great army of friends.
I have attached a photo I took of Jack on September 30, 2020 as he headed down the Appalachian Traild
Determined to hike the entire CT leg of it alone and in 5 days. I was able to convince him to call me every 2 days and leave me with a map of his projected campsites. Q(If you can figure out how to enlarge it, you will have a lovely momento of the Jack I knew.
I wish you all peace and a restful place in God´s arms when you need it.
Love and peace to all who read this,
Christi Pope Merrell
