John Richard Connic
John Richard Connic, age 82, of Trumbull, passed away on February 28, 2026 at Hartford Healthcare in Bridgeport. He was born in Bridgeport to the late Samuel and Marjorie Connic.
He graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport in 1962 and RCA Institutes in New York City before earning his BS and MS in electrical engineering from the University of Bridgeport. He worked at Perkin-Elmer in Danbury - which later became Hughes Aircraft, Raytheon and Goodrich during his tenure - for nearly 35 years. During that time he worked on the primary mirror for the Hubble Space Telescope and on the Hexagon spy satellite project.
He participated in Girl Scouts with his two daughters and was an active member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, both of Trumbull. He served as a communion assistant at Holy Cross and was active in both church's Bible study communities.
He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl (Pekrul) Connic of 50 years. His two daughters, Jennifer Connic of Rutherford, NJ, and Jessica Connic of Trumbull; his sister Muriel Sozanski of Trumbull; and many nieces and nephews including Kathleen, Bill, Marjorie, April and Will.
A memorial service for John will be held on April 11, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT. Inurnment will take place privately at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church columbarium.
