John Laflin Obituary

LAFLIN John W. Laflin, age 76, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Edith Streich Laflin, died on Monday, March 22, 2004, at St. Vincentas Medical Center, Bridgeport. John was born in Bridgeport, and had been a Trumbull resident for 23 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was retired from the maintenance department of the former Fairfield Hills State Hospital. In addition to his wife, John is survived by a son, Carl J. Laflin and his wife, Laura, of Trumbull; a daughter, Joan C. Cuda, also of Trumbull; three grandchildren, Lisa Burns and her husband, Steven, Annette Cuda and Hannah Laflin; a great-grandson, Aidan Burns; a sister, Helen Smeltzer of New Hampshire; his mother-in-law, Amelia Streich of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret McCory. Friends may attend a memorial service on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Trumbull, with the Rev. Emil A. Witschy, pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours and interment will be private. Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Josephas Manor, 6448 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611. Arrangements by the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Trumbull.

I worked with John at Fairfied Hills,anytime something needed to be taken care of on the weekends John was the man I hoped would come show up to fix it.Always a smile on his face and a kind word.I know he is resting in the Arms of God now,may God's grace and peace be with you all.Dave from Bridgeport Hall.
