John Staurovsky Obituary

STAUROVSKY John Martin Staurovsky, age 85, longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband to Elizabeth Novak Staurovsky, passed away at home on Sunday, November 13, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 20, 1926 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late John M. and Julia Tudos Staurovsky. John served with pride and honor in the US Navy during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was a test technician for the former Avco Lycoming in Stratford. In addition to his wife Elizabeth of 58 years, he is survived by a daughter Susan Krueger and her husband Winfried of W. Hartford, sons Robert J. and his wife Cathy of Stratford, Joseph M. and Pam of Shelton, Stephen M. and his wife Robyn and James P. and his wife Lori both of Milford, six cherished grandchildren and his sister Carolyn Drotar. John was predeceased by his brother Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 18th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 70 Gulf St, Milford. Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. 06460. Committal will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 7788, 422 Naugatuck Ave., Milford, CT 06460. www.codywhitefuneralservice.com
