He served 8 years as a Board of Education Member, Chairman of the Republican Town Committee, Chairman of the Stratford Housing Authority, he was also a Justice of the Peace, and served on many other committees and boards. He is survived by his #1, a girl whom he met on a blind date and whom he jokingly said he picked out of 150 applicants. 1 year later, he and Judy Boyle were married and spent 49 years together. They raised 2 children, Jacqueline and Joseph the 3rd (Jen). He has 5 granddaughters who called him "Pa". Kaylee, Hannah, Ellie, Juliana, and Jillian who all adored him. He is the oldest of 6 brothers and sisters. Madelyn, Constance, Donita, Rocco, Angelo (Sherrie) and several nieces and nephews. Deepest Condolences to Judy and family - So saddened by the news of Joe's passing. Not a nicer guy could be found. Fun loving and a huge heart. We two met back when we were kids and shared the experience of the Little League World Series in '63 at Willamsport. What a amazing life experience, he as the crafty catcher & me as a tag along with my Dad who was the team Coach and Manager. A memory we relived with each other whenever we connected. I was also blessed to watch the special bond Joe and my Dad had over many long years. My Dad used to say "he's one of the good guys" and he was so right. A life truly well lived. May his memory remain in this World as a true blessing.

Dearest Judy and Crudo family,
i love you.
It has been a few decades since I have enjoyed the company of Joe and Judy, as we all went about our business, in different geographic areas and various life pursuits. In all cases, immediate family was paramount.
I remember Joe as a dear friend of immense humor ( or sarcasm, compassion, vitality and importantly integrity and truth.
Leading a life based on truth is quite a challenge in this inverted world/culture, yet, the best of us, like Joe, maintain core values.
Blessings to all and love all-ways.

Amazing Joe, i will see you on the other side .
