Joseph Gradowski Obituary

GRADOWSKI Joseph A. Gradowski Jr., age 81, of Waterbury, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in his home. Mr. Gradowski was born in Bridgeport and resided in Trumbull for 21 years, before moving to Waterbury 11 years ago. Mr. Gradowski was a retired plumber for Victory Plumbing. A World War II Army veteran, he served as a rifleman with the 337 Infantry Regiments, 85th Division in the Rome-Arno and Po Valley Appennines Campaigns. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW Post 00145. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorothy Barath Gradowski of Waterbury; two sons, Joseph and his wife, Victoria Gradowski, of Maryland, and Kenneth and his wife, Nancylee Gradowski, of the Huntington section of Shelton; one daughter, Judith and her husband, George Csefai, of Waterbury; one brother, Bruno Gradowski of Davenport, Fla.; two sisters, Sophie Wilcinskas of Trumbull, and Anne Cocco of Davenport, Fla.; six grandchildren, Victoria Gradowski, Kristen Gradowski, Kenneth Gradowski Jr., Keith Gradowski, Sara Csefai, and Scott Csefai; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2003, at 9:45 a.m. in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 635 Bunker Hill Avenue, Waterbury. Interment in St. Michael s Cemetery in Stratford with full military honors. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, from 4 to 8 p.m.
