Joseph Fredrick Trede
Joseph Fredrick Trede entered into eternal rest at Yale New Haven Hospital on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 82.
Joe is the son of the late Joseph and Wanda Wydokur Trede of Monroe, CT. He was brother of the late Fredrick Joseph Sr and is survived by sister-in-law Gloria Trede.
Joe Trede was born on February 5, 1936 in Scarsdale, NY. After graduating high school in Monroe, CT, he served in the U.S. Navy. He later graduated from Ventura College of California, where he was a two-sport athlete, lettering in both football and baseball. He worked as a salesman for Jordanals for several years, and later became an owner of Carvel Ice Cream Parlor in Monroe, which he owned for many years. He then worked as a school bus driver until he was 81 years old.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mafalda Trede of Monroe; daughter Joanne Trede Ponder (Joe); their two daughters, Tara Tortarolo (Dylan) and Taylor Ponder, of California and daughter Terisa Trede (Debbie), of Bristol, CT.
Step-children Karen Merryman (Shirley) and son Christopher (Andrea); Geri Morger (Shane) and their two daughters, Trey and Taryn Morger. Donna Hutvanger (Larry), sons Matt (Liz) and Tim (Beth), and daughter Emily. Lisa Davenport, her daughters, Becky (Kenny), Samantha and son Reid.
The late Joseph Ruddy (Meg) and daughters Laura (Mike) and Elizabeth (Joe). The late Michael Ruddy, sons Michael and Kyle, and daughter Alie.
Great-grandchildren Alexis, Hunter, Madison, Caleb, Ryanne, Joseph, Liam, Collin and Kelsey, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Joe was a member of the Rod and Gun Club of Newtown. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling , collecting coins, and going to the casino. His favorite football team was the San Franisico 49'ers, and he was a big UConn Girls' basketball fan. But, the biggest joy of his life was being with his family and friends.
We invite all family and friends to attend church service at St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull, CT on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, we ask to send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Joe's Family , Joe was a pleasure to be around he always had a couple of jokes and some very interesting stories about life in general he will be sorely missed by so many people .

Your Dad cherished you girls! He was always bigger than life, I have many wonderful memories of him. Joe would tease you one minute and hug you the next, he provided a safe haven for me when I needed it as a teenager, I will never forget. My love to you and your family during this difficult time.
