Joseph Troiano Obituary

Joseph "Joe T" Troiano
Joseph "Joe T" Troiano age 80 of Bridgeport CT, entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 7, 2022, with his loving family and friends by his side. Born May 5, 1941, to the late Louis Troiano and Clementine Grassia. He grew up in the Hallow spending his early days at the North End Boys Club where he developed his skills as a star basketball player. Known for his athleticism, he played ball throughout his schooling from St. Augustine's to Fairfield Prep to the University of Bridgeport. He loved everything sports related but none was more pronounced than his lifelong love of Ted Williams and the Boston Red Sox.
In his 20s he moved to Los Angeles. Loving the California sunshine and lifestyle, he never met a golf course or race track he didn't like. His charm and blue eyes even landed him occasional extra work in films. But the highlight of his time out west were the two wonderful children he had, Martine and Joey, who he adored more than life.
A devoted son, he returned to Bridgeport in his later years to help care for his mother and where he worked security for the school system until his retirement. For the last decade Joe had a weekly date with his daughter. Even though on opposite coasts, they always made time to catch up and share in each other lives as though they were together. She helped modernize him with an iPhone so they could FaceTime, share photos and use google to answer a list of questions he would compile throughout week. Their relationship was one of kind.
Joe had a larger-than-life personality and was known as a fixture around town. At the very least you could catch him at St. Mary's by the Sea walking his laps and working on his tan. He was loved and respected by the community and will be missed tremendously. As You Wish OM.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning April 19, 2022 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY in St. Augustine Cathedral, 339 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport. Entombment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport.
