To Joe....in heaven...I am 72 years old now....and had a dream about you two nights ago....and your very special place in my life when I was living in Highland Park NJ and would come weekly to your advanced classes. I was in my thirties at the time, and adored dancing and you!! Best teacher I ever had. I danced up to my eighth month of pregnancy with my second daughter. You kept me balanced and on my feet even though my big belly got in the way! I looked you up after my dream and am so glad I found out where you have been and what went on in your life since I stopped my lessons. You are the first person I will look up when I too join the heavenly ranks!! I Loved you then, and now and have missed you so much. Bless you and your family!❤

To the Family of Mr. Vilane,

Please accept my condolences at this very difficult time. I was a student of Mr. Vilane's about 25 years ago, back on Charles St. He was a wonderful teacher who put his heart and soul into everything he did. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. May you find the strength to get through this difficult time. May it bring you comfort to know he is at peace. I'm sure he is looking down upon us all with a smile.

I was a student of Mr. Vilane's in the 1970's. Eventually I continued my studies in New York City. Mr. Vilane was by far the best ballet instructor. I consider myself fortunate to have had such great instruction from a wonderful teacher. Mr. Vilane will be sorely missed. My condolences to his friends and family.

With sincere and heartfelt sympathy. He will be missed by his closest of friends and I will remember him when I would bring my niece and watch the class as he taught the new dance routines.

Our sympathy to all.

Joe would commute to Bpt. and direct the Bridgeport P.A.L. shows back in the 50's and 60's. We had some wonderful times,he made great memories for us.His dancing shoes may be silent now ,but I smile when I remember him.He will be missed.I am sure he is dancing and directing a show in heaven already.

I was 20, skinny, ackward, and couldn't carry a tune let alone move my feet for the simplest steps. And you, Joe, NEVER made me feel self-conscious. I took five lessons from you and knew then, that I was NOT a dancer. You graciously told me the same thing but told me that there would be other things I could do in life.

There are.

Thank you for an early-life lesson and for being so gentle.

I will always remember you.
