Joseph John Wilmot, age 73, of Oxford, beloved husband of Rose Marie (Beitzel) Wilmot, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 in Griffin Hospital, Derby. Mr. Wilmot was born March 21, 1945 in Bridgeport, son of the late John Wilmot and Anna Czipot Grabowski and had been a lifetime area resident. Joe was a retired quality control manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved all animals, he especially adored his dog Venda. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his two daughters, Patricia Lynch and her husband Sean and Ann Marie Wilmot-Santana and her husband Alex; three grandchildren, Kyle, Meara and Shane; two brothers-in-law, Jim Beitzel (Winnie) and Ben Beitzel (Ludy) and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his funeral service celebrated by Deacon John Piatak on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family Thursday before service time from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
