Joyce Riley Obituary

RILEY Joyce (Campbell) Riley, age 68, of Stratford, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 2, 1935, in Trelawny, Jamaica, to the late Benjamin and Gladys Campbell. She emigrated to the United States in June 1986. She was a faithful member of St. John Episcopal Church in Bridgeport until her illness in 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Riley. She was the beloved mother of Audra Riley-Wade of Stratford, and Norman Riley of Seymour. She had one son-in-law, Lloyd Wade; and leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Shannon and Dylan Wade of Stratford, and a large, loving family which includes five brothers, Noel, Melvin, Miguel, Neville and Kartilyn; and two sisters, Pauline and Elaine. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. John Episcopal Church, 768 Fairfield Avenue (corner of Park Avenue), Bridgeport, with the Rev. Dr. William H. Shepherd officiating. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Visitation will be held at St. John Episcopal Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
