A huge smile, delicious dessert maker, bright pink hat in the Sunrise Cove pool, Karen was my ready companion always eager to attend plays and musicals. Loved watching sunsets with her - as long as it didn't interfere with Jeopardy! Our heartfelt condolences to the Fowler families - Tom and Chris

I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. She was a wonderful teacher. She taught me 3rd grade before she was married...60 years ago. She had us memorize Stopping By Woods On a Snowy Evening, and I still remember it. She also taught me how to write in cursive, truly a dying art. I will always remember her class as that's where I was when I learned that JFK had been shot. She touched hundreds of lives in so many positive ways. I'm sure there are many, many other students like myself who will remember her long and well. Sending my deepest condolences to her family.

Karen was delightful. A friend for over twenty some years with a smile that was contagious. She was an avid people person, always ready to help, particularly older or handicapped people she did´nt make it known at sunrise cove that she often taxied her late mom´s friend for shopping dr. Appointments and visited homebound people to cheer them up. She oozed kindness.Together we enjoyed the ballet, concerts , opera and the many little theatres in Sarasota. She loved the Theatre of the Mind , a playreading group. Karen had an excellent eye for decor and knew where the best bargains were. She made my life fun and I will miss her terribly and the way she could light up the room when she walked in..lois kfoury
