Karen Maru Obituary

MARU Karen Novick Maru, age 64, of Fairfield, beloved wife to Joseph C. File, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, Karen was a longtime resident of Fairfield and a retired professor from the University of Connecticut. She was an avid quilter and fiber artist, having many of her works exhibited in local museums. In addition to her husband, Joseph, Karen is survived by two sons, Michael File, of Jamaica Plains, MA and Charles File, of New Brunswick, NJ; two brothers, Peter Novick, of South Newfane, VT and Garr Novick, of Cherry Hill, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. I knew Karen many years ago when we worked together. Karen was a kind, gentle person who was always a team player and willing to help out on any project. She helped employees reporting to her to get promotions always supportive.
Karen used to tell me about her two sons whom she loved so much.
I am sorry to hear of her passing. Deepest sympathy to her family.
