Kelly Wright Obituary

Wright, Kelly M.
Kelly Wright, age 57, of Fairfield, CT, beloved husband of Erika Wright, died suddenly from heart failure last weekend. Kelly was born in Rochester, NY on March 1, 1957 and lived in Westport and more recently, Fairfield, for the past 37 years. Kelly and his brother Chris Wright specialized in small home renovation projects during the 1970's. In 1985, the two brothers formed their own construction company, Wright Brothers, a business that soon became both highly successful and well-known for quality residential home remodeling and new construction throughout Fairfield County. The Wright Brothers won many awards over the years, including the prestigious University of Connecticut's "Family Business of the Year." Kelly was a passionate deep-sea fisherman who often credited his mother, Rosemary Fortmann, with teaching him to fish as she, in her garden gloves, patiently threaded worms onto hooks. Kelly and his brother Chris loved to go fishing offshore in Montauk and never came home empty-handed. Kelly was beloved by his many friends and family, and will be especially remembered for his generosity and constant good will. His positive spirit and enthusiasm were contagious and he was a pillar of support for family and friends alike. Everyone will greatly miss his shining light. In addition to his loving wife Erika, Kelly is survived by his four children, Micky, Lea, Tommy and Will, a brother, Chris Wright of Stamford and his sister, Joan Wright of Fairfield, along with nieces Cristin and Emily Wright, and his nephew Colin Wright. He is also survived by his wife's family including two brothers-in-law, Erno Bacso and Tibor Borsos, and his wife's cousin Erika Bacso and her daughters, Hanna and Sophie. Calling hours will be Thursday evening , January 15, 2015 from 6 – 8 PM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT. A memorial service for friends and family will take place on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1 pm at the Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Avenue, Southport, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or the ALS Association (www.alsa.org).

My deepest condolences to all in Kelly's fine family. He was a good man whom I had known for over 40 years. We spoke 4-5 times a year reminiscing and talking about life and our blessings and our respective family's. His love for all of you was loud and clear. He was a good man who made a difference in this troubled world. Gone too soon. I will miss his voice and selfless candor. My deepest sympathies to all of you from a schoolmate and dear friend. My sincere condolences to the Wright Family. The memories I hold dear to my heart of Kelly and his family are from Montauk and the yacht club. Kelly's contagious smile and friendship was treasured by my late husband Denny, myself, and my son Dennis. May God keep you in the palms of his hands and guide you through this tragic loss. My heart extends to Kelly's children and Ericka. May God give you strength and support you through this terrible loss.
