Lora Marian Mills Foster, (September 12, 1926 - October 25, 2014) 88, of Trumbull, CT. passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Deseret Health and Rehab in Rock Springs, Wyoming with family at her side. A resident of Trumbull, CT, Mrs. Foster passed away following a lengthy illness. She was born on September 12, 1926 in Westport, Connecticut, the daughter of Robert R. Mills, II and Lois Althea (Stevens) Mills. Mrs. Foster attended schools in Westport, CT. and graduated from Staples High School with the Class of 1944. She also earned a degree as a Registered Nurse at the State Hospital in Utica, NY. She married Arthur A. Foster in Westport, CT. on June 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death in Trumbull, CT. on February 14, 1993.She worked as a Registered Nurse for various employers and was also a homemaker. She retired in 1990.Her interests included reading, gardening, quilting, woodcarving, crocheting, painting, bird-watching, traveling and genealogy. She was married almost forty years to the love of her life. Survivors include one son Gary Foster of Cooperstown, New York; two daughters Diane Valentine of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Nancy Symski and husband Tom of Shelton, CT. She had five grandchildren Stephen, Daniel,and Rachel Symski and Alex (Cassy) and Lena Valentine. Lora was blessed with two great grand children - Bentley Valentine of Ashland, NE and Natalie Olmsted of Rock Springs She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Sam,and Eddie and two sisters Jane and Barb Mills. There will be a service and interment on Saturday, June 6, 10:30am, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Daniels Farm Rd, Trumbull, CT.
