LOU GERIG Memoriam

LOU GERIG contracted ALS in 1929- and passed in 1931 I would like to say, I was brought up in the hollow of Bridgeport, CT when we knew our neighbors, down the street or around the corner. We had respect for each other. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED MOTHER'S DAY IS EVERY DAY NOT ONCE A YEAR. Remember it never rains on mother's day but pours cat's and dog's on fathers day. As a representative of the U.S. Army and Country, I would like to say when the man delivered the grapes to make grapes none of the kids had respect not to touch it because we knew later in the day they would make wine with it, white or red. At that time there was a guy called Jack the ripper and everyone was worried about him and I was a kid talking about the end off the world. The Lord said, he would never end the world, man will destroy himself, everyday someone is dying from the bad person. I would like to express myself clearly because we are looking for research for Lou Gerig's Disease and when the doctor told Patty, he's looking to know you have Lou Gerig's disease, she looked him in the eye and said I know what that is. As her husband, I always had the hope she would get better. Back in those days, we all had respect for eachother. We respected them with all our hearts. I will let you know I am that Leonard A. Benedetto who cares for everyone, My mother said there will only be one Leonard A., and never will be another one. God Bless America and Respect eachother. SGT. Leonard A. Benedetto.
