Luis Tosado Alicea, age 88 of Bridgeport, Connecticut, fell asleep in death on Saturday November 12, 2016 at home surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Luis was born in Camuy Puerto Rico, son of the late Santana and Josefa Alicea. He relocated to Bridgeport in 1951, where he worked and raised his family.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church for many years but more recently he belonged to St. Charles.
He was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor. He touched so many lives with his kindness. He was a wonderful father to the end.
He loved to cook, play the guitar and cuatro but especially loved to play dominos.
Luis was predeceased by his wife Maria Inez Gonzalez Alicea and son Arnulfo (Fufi) Alicea.
He will be missed by his children Angel Alicea, Edward Alicea, Henry Alicea, Lionel (Johnny) Alicea, Carmen Alicea; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and many good friends who will also miss him.
We would like to thank everyone for their kind words during this very difficult time. But a special thanks to Peter Blunt, Lisa Nelson, Eric and Davida Toro, Gladys DeJesus, Marta Cubero, Nelson (Tito) and Mary Alicea, Miña, Miguel, Billie, Louie, Hector Nieves and family. The McCoys and the Kindred Hospice nurses.
Our dad's life was enriched by the love you showed. We are forever grateful.
Funeral service will be private. A memorial will be held on Saturday November 26, 2016 in Orlando, Florida. If anyone wishes to attend, call the family for details.
