Mabel C. (Murray) Nuttall Brenner, age 106, of Fairfield, the matriarch of the family, passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2022. Born in Bridgeport, Mrs. Brenner was a lifelong Fairfield resident. Prior to her retirement, she was an Inspector with Fairfield Plastics.
Mrs. Brenner was a true family matriarch. She loved her family and could always be found baking and working around her home. She was a very independent woman and preferred to do things herself rather than relying on someone else. She loved to garden and had an appreciation for flowers.
Mrs. Brenner is survived by her two loving daughters, Cora Lee Nuttall of Fairfield and Janice Veronesi and her husband, Robert of Savoy, MA; daughter-in-law, Susan Nuttall; her sister, Shirley Totten; five special grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Canepari, Harold (Renee) Nuttall, Keith (Alicia) Veronesi, Jason Veronesi and Jamie (Erica) Veronesi; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Gordon Nuttall; her second husband, Alfred L. Brenner; her sons, Robert J. Nuttall and Mark David Brenner; one great-grandchild and eleven brothers and sisters.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may greet her family from 8:30-9:30 a.m. prior to the church service at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center.
