Margaret McEachern Obituary

Margaret Mary McEachern, age 74, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on 5/27/2025, surrounded by her loving family. A graduate of Notre Dame High School and Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. Margaret dedicated 36 years of service to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Margie, as she was affectionately known, lived a life filled with warmth, laughter and deep connections that left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Her eggplant parm was a culinary masterpiece, quite a remarkable achievement for an Irishwoman.
Margaret found great joy in nature. She spent countless hours cultivating her stunning gardens.
Margie's love for animals led her to rescue and foster numerous dogs in need of a loving home.
She is survived by her beloved son, Michael, brother, Patrick, sisters-in-law, Mary and Melanie, nieces and nephews, Sarah, Megan, Jim, PJ, Kevin and Kerry. She also leaves a cherished great-niece and nephew MaryGrace and Patrick. In accordance with Margie's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held 6/28/25, starting 1pm, at 27 Pamela Dr., Monroe.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to the Jim McNiff Fund for cancer research at Yale, a cause Margie dedicated much of her time supporting, in honor of her brother, Jim. Yale Cancer Center, PO Box 7611, New Haven, CT 06519-0611.

I'm so very sorry to learn of your mom's passing. I don't know if you remember me, but I believe I was one of your grade 8 teachers at St. Jude. Believe me when I say I often thought about you and your class over the years. I'm truly saddened by your loss. God bless.

Margie Margie, I was not really ready for this!!! Our high school gatherings were always fun, even though we went to different high schools!!!! I will miss our banterings and laughter!!! May you rest in peace, my friend!!
