Maria "Rose" Scinto
Maria Rose Scinto, age 94, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Mozaic Senior Life, Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard J. Scinto, Jr. Born in Bridgeport on April 11, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Maria Domenica (D'Arminio) Ascolese. Maria had worked as a bookkeeper at Adley Express before having children and dedicating her time to raising her family. She was an active member of the Trumbull Senior Center and built many friendships there. Rose was an avid pinochle player and gardener with a knack for growing beautiful roses. She loved and cherished spending time with her family, and took great pride in the accomplishments of her grandchildren. Rose was artistic, loved baking, cooking and canning, often using recipes learned from her mother. Her home was welcoming and inviting to everyone to share in the bottomless coffee pot; her door was always open. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving children, Susan Paolini and her husband Rick of Trumbull and Lenny Scinto and his wife Kathy, also of Trumbull, her cherished grandchildren, Chrissy Paolini, Lisa Paolini, David Scinto and Rachel Scinto, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, Leonard Jr., she was also predeceased by her brother, Domenic Ascolese and sisters, Bridget Ciufo, Annie Adley, and Antoinette Romano.
Friends may greet the family at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull.
