Marion Ferguson Obituary

Marion Anabeth Ferguson
Marion Anabeth (King) Ferguson, 99 - born in Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield, CT on August 1, 1917 – died peacefully March 30, 2017 at Glen Hill Nursing Home in Danbury, CT where she had resided for the past three years.
Marion lived for 30 years in Easton, CT where her father Frank King owned a lumber company. Her mother was Mary (Wakeman) King. She lived for 25 years in Redding where she raised her family after her husband, the late Charles E. Ferguson, became totally disabled. He predeceased her in 1981. She then resided in Newtown for the next 30 years. She was predeceased by two sisters – Evelyn Chester and Elizabeth Carmichael and four brothers – Charles, John, William and Wakeman (Burt) King.
She is survived by a son, Scott C. Ferguson and his wife Eva and a daughter, Linda (Ferguson) Bates; a granddaughter, MacKenzie (Bates) McCarthy and her husband Christopher; a grandson, Joseph Ferguson and three great-grandchildren Madison, Kelsey and Collin McCarthy and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was a young girl during the Great Depression and a young woman during World War II. After her husband was disabled by car accident, Marion worked many jobs to support her children. She never complained. We all remember her wonderful sense of humor, her absolute selfless love for her family and her goodness.
Marion loved to play pinocle, garden and feed the birds and she was one of the best cooks in the world. Her Sunday dinners were legendary and all were welcome at her table. She always had a cat and a dog to love. She was a "giver" not a "taker" and no one ever had a better Mom or Grandmother.
We ask that those who attend her funeral share a remembrance at the service.
The funeral will be held at Southbury Funeral Home of Munson Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Aspetuck Cemetery in Easton, CT. contributions may be made to the Newtown Fund, Inc., P.O. Box 641, Newtown, CT 06470-0641. Online condolences may be made through www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com

I will miss seeing her when I am at Glen Hill. She was blessed to have a wonderful family. Her face would light up when her great-grandchildren and granddaughter would visit.
