Martha Bartha Obituary

Martha Bartha
Martha Bartha, age 93, of Milford, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Milford Health & Rehab. She was the cherished wife of the late Louis Bartha with whom she was married for 68 years. Martha's memory will be forever celebrated by her two children, Eric Bartha, of Milford, Beverlee Bartha and companion John, of Northford, her grandchildren, Corianne Brennan, Arthur Brennan, wife Amanda, and three great-grandchildren: Louis, Troy, and Penelope Brennan. Never was there a more loving "Gram." She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Amelia Melone, and five siblings, Connie, Mary, Thomas, Dominic, and Antionette. Born May 21, 1929 and raised in Bridgeport. Martha and Louis were wed in 1949 and moved to Milford in 1957, where they raised their family. In the 1960s, Martha worked at Friendly Frost Appliances then went on to work at GE/Hotpoint Service as a dispatcher where she retired. Martha loved to cook for her family. Her stuffed cabbage, meatballs, and stuffed artichokes will go down in history. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and loved to travel and cruise with Louis, all her siblings, and their spouses. In her earlier days she was known to be a good pinochle player. Martha was strong in her Christian faith and a member of Christ the Redeemer congregation for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild for many years. Martha's family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Christina Del Prete (great-niece), and the staff at Milford Health & Rehab for the exceptional care and compassion given to Martha and family during her stay. Friends are invited to greet family on Thursday March 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Road, Milford, CT. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Beth-El Center, 90 New Haven Ave., Milford CT.
