Martin T. Galla

GALLA Martin T. Galla, age 87 of Fairfield, beloved husband of Frances Miklus Galla, passed away peacefully in his home on September 1, 2010. In addition to his devoted wife of 58 years, Frances, he will be remembered by his children, Elizabeth Pultz of Shelton, Thomas Galla of Cottonwood, Ariz., James Galla of Fairfield, Lawrence Galla, and his wife, Eileen of Fairfield and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Anna Norko Galla; four brothers, John, William, George, and Joseph Galla; and three sisters, Anna Magera, Mary Rusnak, and Teresa Franko. A retired toolmaker for Liberty Tool company, Martin proudly served in the United States Army's 717th Tank Battalion during World War II. His funeral service will be held on Monday, September 20th at 9:30 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, and 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield. Interment will be private. Friends may greet his family on Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
