Mary Balog Obituary
Mary J. (Haurilak) Balog, age 93, of Shelton, passed away December 26, 2017 in Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Mary Julia Balog was born on September 3, 1924 to Michael and Julia (Smarz) Haurilak in Canton, CT. She was the widow of Stephen Balog. Steve and Mary were the proprietors of Eight Acres Restaurant in Shelton for many years. Survivors include her sons Stephen (Deborah) Balog of Shelton, CT and Joseph (Linda) Balog of Brockport, NY; four cherished grandchildren Amanda Balog Sanders, Chad, Corey and Casey Balog, and one loving great-grandson Stephen Sanders. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church, 100 St. John's Drive, Trumbull. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton, CT. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelton Senior Center. To leave an online condolence please visit mullinsfh.com.
