Michael C. Benlock age 76, of Milford, beloved husband for 38 years to Carolyn (Orr) Benlock, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 1, 2014 in Milford Hospital. Mike was born in Bridgeport on May 28, 1937, son of the late Michael B. Benlock and Emma Heisner of Stratford. He was also predeceased by a sister Helen (Donavan). In addition to his wife Carolyn, Mike is survived by one brother, Charles Benlock (wife Edie) and two sisters, Betty Ann Carrafiello and Donna Carrafiello (husband Brian), all of Stratford, along with several nieces and nephews. Mike served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. He was retired from Robertshaw Controls Co. in Milford where he worked in Quality Control Inspection. Mike enjoyed spending time bowling, home landscaping, gardening, woodworking, crafts and drawing. Services will be held Friday February 7, 2014, at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Friends may call between 9:00am and 11:00am on Friday. A Prayer Service will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home, followed by burial at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull. (A Memorial Mass at Christ The Redeemer Church in Milford will take place at a later date.) In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
